Philosophy
We believe that the parents are the primary educators of their children—emotionally, physically, spiritually, and academically (Duet. 6:6-9). At the parent’s request, the Christian School, along with the church, becomes a partner in providing this education. Our goal is to reinforce development in all areas by providing a safe and nurturing environment that promotes a desire to explore and understand God’s creation and His Word. We believe that a biblical worldview is intrinsic to all teaching and that the basis for all instruction is God’s Holy Word (II Tim. 16:17). The Bible tells us that “Jesus grew in wisdom and stature and in favor with God and men” (Luke 2:52). Our desire is to provide a stimulating, active, Christ-centered environment that will help students to grow as Jesus grew—wisdom (cognitive development), stature (physical development) and favor with God and men (social and spiritual development. Rom. 12:1-2). Understanding that preschool children learn at different rates and stages, LCA uses developmentally appropriate activities that stimulate these active learners. Our curriculum features age-appropriate activities that foster a learning environment that meets the needs of each individual child.). We believe that one of the most important people in your child’s life while you are away, is his/her teacher. All of our teachers are qualified, experienced professionals with an intense love for children. More importantly, our teachers are born-again Christians who seek to “lead by example”. We strive to exemplify Christian character and values in our own lives in order to better instill these qualities in our students.

Discipline Policy:
The Bible clearly indicates that parents are responsible for the discipline (that is, training or instruction) of their children. The Christian school exists to assist parents in their God-given responsibilities. Therefore, LCA seeks not to assume a task to which God gives parents, but only to serve as the parents’ appointed and authorized representative in the child training during the hours the child is in its care.
Students must at all times conduct themselves in a manner becoming of a lady or gentleman. Every student is expected to respectfully obey all staff and school rules. Here at LCA, discipline is maintained which is firm, consistent, fair, and tempered with love. When disciplinary action becomes
necessary, it will be firmly carried out and tempered by good judgment and understanding.
Certain infractions warrant an automatic trip to the administrator. Infractions include, but are not limited to, defiance and disrespect, fighting, and cursing. Disciplinary action may involve a suspension or corporal punishment. Anytime a student is sent to the office, a parent will be called and one of the following may occur: the parent comes to the school to administer corporal punishment, the school administers corporal punishment, or the student could be suspended for an indefinite period of time. NOTE: Issues will be noted in Gradelink. Parents have the ability to be notified by text for issues, grades, etc.
Tardy & Attendance (VPK – 12 Grade)
LCA is graded on how well our students do in the K-5 entrance test, so the VPK program follows the same STRICT guidelines as all other grades.
* A student may not miss more than 20 days during a school year. A student may be asked to withdraw if the total absences exceed 20.
* There must be an excuse note on file for each absence. Please use the form designation for documenting absences. All excuse notes must be signed by a parent/guardian.
* If a student has more than seven absences in the same month, the absence must be excused by someone other than a parent, i.e. a doctor.
* Please have your child in school on time.
*** Four tardies will constitute one absence. *Excessive unexcused absences may affect your scholarship.
